Hi, my name is Jack and I am a pure-bred Selkirk Rex.
My previous parent found my foster mom and she offered to help by taking me in. My foster mom even has a copy of my pedigree from the breeder where I originally came from. My hair is not quite as curly as it should be, but my breed also hasn't been around all that long.
If you are interested in me, you must know how to properly care for my coat. My hair requires alot of maintenance and this is extremely important for my potential adopter to understand. I don't just need brushing, but also baths, and possible professional grooming occasionally.
I am a really sensitive kitty. I don't like it when the other cats in the household fuss at me or try and chase me around. I tend to be really laid back and nothing really bothers me, but I do not like to be a trouble maker. My foster mom says it's obvious how offended I get when the others swat at me, I really hate it. I get along great with most of the cats, but as you can tell from my picture, I think some of them don't understand I'm also a cat. Let's face it, I look like I could be a small dog!!
I am a really heavy boy, with a large heavy frame. I weigh in around 13-14 pounds, but I have virtually no fat on me. I have this beautiful hair and a flat face like a Persian or Himalayan. I also have a really interesting deep-sounding meow. My foster parents think it's entertaining.
I have a really special relationship with my foster dad, I actually prefer him over mom, but maybe that's cause she's always fussing with my hair, cleaning my ears, or something else equally annoying.
I am a special guy, and a rare one at that. Friends For Life rarely has pure-bred animals as a rescue, but here I am.
If you know and understand the Selkirk Rex, or an equally high-maintenance breed, feel free to apply to adopt me. I really need a special forever home.
