I’m a very affectionate and playful girl - I love being with people and playing with other animals. I’m a “talker”, and I enjoy chasing birds. I am an AKC registered Brittany Spaniel. Born in 2006, Birdie was abused as a puppy. She came to FFLAH with a dislocated left hip. The injury was already so old that the joint cannot be fixed. She now requires surgery to remove the head of the femur, allowing the muscles and tendons to support the joint. If the surgery is not successful, the leg will have to be removed. The surgery is expensive, so Birdie is looking for a couple of sponsors to help with the costs. Despite the injury and associated pain, Birdie is still a very active and playful girl. With a successful surgery, she will enjoy a pain-free, active life.
